Lunch Volunteer Guidelines

​Thank you for your interest in volunteering for this valuable service! Our focus is to ensure we provide the highest food quality and lunch service to our students and staff!!
First Time Volunteers
  • ​Please arrive no later than 10:00 am for first shift and 11:25am for second shift. The caterer will start setting up around 9:30 am.
  • First shift: 10:00am to 11:45 am
  1. ​​Lunch takes place in the Lower MPR and Upper MPR starting at 10:10am.
  2. Open the lockers and setup the laptop with the scanner. Get the utensils out for the students.
  3. Once the laptop is on, click on the Lunch icon on the desktop and make sure it's displaying the correct day.
  4. Have the students lineup in a single line so you can scan their ID's and have them collect their meals. 
  5. Double check with the monitors if there's any student left out or has missed lunch in that specific lunch time.
  • Second Shift: 11:25am to 12:45pm
    Please coordinate with the first shift volunteer for any issues that need attention.
General Rules & Responsibilities
  • ​​You will supervise the server in delivering lunch to students at their respective lunch hours.
  • Marking off the student’s or staff member’s names on the lunch distribution list, once lunch is served​. 
  • If students don't have their ID on them, the lunch volunteer will send the student to the Admin Office to obtain a new ID.
  • Once the student has their ID, they show it to the lunch volunteer and will be given their lunch.
  • BASIS Scottsdale requires students present their ID in order to receive their lunch.
  • Please try to find students who didn’t come and get their lunch. If a student has refused their lunch or if there any issues, notify the Lunch Chair.
Closing out the day in both MPRs (Second shift)
  • Turn off the laptop and place it back in the locker with the scanner and its charger.
  • ​Place the utensils back in the boxes and lock the lockers.
Students who forgot to bring lunch
  • Please send them to the front office to call their parents. We cannot provide them a hot lunch if they are not on the list.
